EGrammar Unit 7 - Present perfect (1) 現在に影響を及ぼす過去のこと。とか。

現在完了形の使い方。

The present perfect is "have/has + past participle". The past participle often ends in -ed, but many important verbs are irregular.

We often use the present perfect to give new information or to announce a recent happening.

現在完了形の使い方(1) 現在に影響を及ぼす過去の事。

When we use the present perfect, there is a connection with now. The action in the past has a result now.

過去形と現在完了系と両方使える場合。

We also use the simple past in these situations:

  • He told me his name, but I've forgotten it. or ... but I forgot it.
  • Kimberly isn't here. She's gone out. or ... She went out.

We often use the present perfect with just, already, and yet. You can also use the simple past.

  • Just(a short time ago)
  • Already (something happened sooner than expected)
  • Yet (until now. It shows that the speaker is expecting something to happen. Use yet only in questions and negative sentences)

過去形を使う場合。

Do not use the present perfect when you talk about a finished time:
last night, two years ago, yesterday, etc.

Ex)

  • It snowed last night.
  • Where were you at 3:00?
  • I started my new job two weeks ago.
